2018 US Nationals qualifying team
Our Masters team is made up of 16 skaters aged 26-shhh we won’t tell. The team practices on Friday nights at Highland Ice Arena.
The Masters Team – Sharing our love for the ice
The best part about being on the first Masters Team with Washington Ice Emeralds came right after the season ended, when my typically blasé teenager told me he boasted to his friends, “My mom was in a National Skating Competition!” Or maybe the best part was sitting rinkside in the audience, yelling like I was a teenager again myself, cheering on our fabulous Adult Team. Or, come to think of it, maybe it was when we Masters took the ice, grooving to Earth, Wind and Fire under the Jumbotron, smiling at each other and everyone watching us, whirling hand-in-hand in a neat circle. Or was it weeks before that, when we pulled off our first fast triangle intersection in practice? Yeah, that was cool, so satisfying. So were potlucks, brunch, tapas & sangria, getting to know people who share my love of skating, and learning from amazingly talented coaches who are thoroughly, passionately nuts about Synchro. Their enthusiasm is contagious and we Masters cannot wait for next season!
